General Questions

Be 18 years old, hold a valid driver’s license, and place a refundable security deposit on a major credit card ( $50 in Hawaii; $100 in Fargo/Detroit Lakes). If using a debit card it will be $500 deposit and required liability insurance at $35/day

Not if using a credit card however we do recommend opting into our liability insurance. Provide proof of personal coverage or purchase the Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) at checkout.

Yes, it is credited toward your final rental cost.

You can pay for the rental in cash or with a debit card, but the security deposit must be placed on a credit card.

No, learner or provisional licenses are not accepted. All renters must hold a valid driver’s license.

Licensing & Endorsement

No. A standard driver’s license is sufficient for 49‑50 cc models.

We do not carry 125cc at hawaii location!

Yes, with a valid passport and driver’s license from their home country plus the usual age and deposit requirements.

Vehicle Specs & Operation

49 cc models ≈ 30 MPH; 125 cc models ≈ 59 MPH. 150cc models~ 70MPH 200 cc models ~80 mph 300cc models ~ 80+ mph

Roughly 90‑100 miles on a full tank (about 1‑1.4 gal).

All rental mopeds use automatic CVT transmissions.

No. All rental mopeds are single‑rider only.

Yes, we offer storage trunks for select moped models. These can be added for $5 as an optional accessory.

Road Use & Restrictions

No. Mopeds must stay on surface streets; highways are prohibited.

Use legal motorcycle/scooter spaces or marked street parking. Do not block sidewalks or driveways.

No, mopeds are not allowed in bike lanes. They must operate on standard vehicle lanes.

No, there are no nightly curfews for moped rentals.

Insurance & Coverage

Basic LDW is $25/day and includes a $100 damage deductible and $1,000 theft or total loss deductible. It does not include tire or roadside coverage. Premium LDW is $35/day and includes a $0 damage deductible, $500 theft deductible, tire coverage, and 24/7 roadside assistance.

You are fully liable for damage, theft, towing, flats, and any roadside costs.

No, the Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) only covers damage to the rental vehicle. It does not cover medical expenses.

Add‑Ons and Equipment

DOT helmet, lock & chain, full tank of gas, printed map, and Google‑Maps route link; safety lesson for new riders.

Each moped rental includes one helmet. Storage trunks are available for scooters, but not for mopeds. Trunks can be added for $5. Rain ponchos are not currently available.

Fuel & Maintenance

Daily rentals start with a full tank and usually do not require refueling. Scooters must refuel using 92 premium

You must refuel with 92 premium gasoline only. Using a lower grade may result in damage or additional charges.

Pickup & Return

Deposits release 3‑5 business days after undamaged return.

Yes, after-hours drop-off is available. You must add liability insurance ($25 or $35/day) and pay an after-hours return fee: $25 for mopeds or scooters, $35 for motorcycles.

We charge a $25 late fee for each hour past your scheduled return time. If your return is scheduled for 4:30 PM or later, a 15-minute grace period applies. After that, you will be charged for either an after-hours return or a full 24-hour rental.

Cleaning & Damage

No yo do not have to bring back clean.

Safety & Emergencies

Yes, helmets are mandatory; one is provided with every rental. in hawaii there is no helmet law for moped riders however we encourage every renter to wear one

Call 911 if necessary, then notify GoGo Rental immediately to file an incident report and arrange towing.

If you do not opt into LDW or roadside assistance, you are responsible for any towing fees out of pocket. Roadside assistance is available as a $10/day add-on.
