Sax on the beach
Join us for the annual Sax on the Beach tournament during Detroit Lakes’ Water Carnival. Sign up early to secure your spot for $30 per person and enjoy a day of bags, sunshine, and fun by the lake. This year’s tournament begins with pool play, then moves into a single elimination bracket for the top teams. Check back soon for registration and event updates.

Competition Structure
We’re kicking things off with pool play this year to better manage signups. Teams will be grouped into pools of 3 or 4, with each team playing every other in their pool. Games go to 15 or 21 points depending on timing.
1 point for a win, 0 for a loss
Point differential breaks ties
Top 8 to 16 teams advance to a single elimination bracket
All players get a $25 GoGo Rental credit and a Sax on the Beach T-shirt (vintage 2023 shirts may be making a return).
Registration Guidelines
Signups open Saturday, July 19th at 10:00 AM on the beach at Detroit Lakes Pavilion. The tournament is limited to 32 teams, and early arrival is strongly encouraged. Pool play format means brackets will be finalized based on the morning’s turnout.
Same-day signups are welcome if space allows, but early registration is the best way to lock in your team’s spot. Kyle will be helping with on-site signups and logistics again this year.
Rewarding Excellence
Top teams will compete for over $2,000 in prizes, including cash payouts, WeFest tickets, and GoGo Rental credits.
