Historically significant area that includes the Missouri-Yellowstone Confluence Interpretive Center which tells the story of the confluence of Missouri and Yellowstone rivers, as well as provides the same magnificent view that Lewis and Clark Expedition members enjoyed when they visited in 1805 and 1806. Located one half mile west of the Confluence Center is Fort Buford. Fort Buford State Historic Site preserves the remnants of a vital frontier military post. It is best remembered as the place where famous Sioux leader, Sitting Bull, surrendered in 1881.
